Abstract

The village of Sukamandi Hilir is one of the villages located in Pagar Merbau District. The village of Sukamandi Hilir has done mechanization of paddy farming further from other villages in Kecamatan Pagar Merbau. This is evidenced by the many uses of agricultural tools / mesih. This research aims to see whether there is influence of rice harvest technology to income of paddy farmer family in Sukamandi Hilir village of Pagar Merbau subdistrict and how condition or condition of rice harvest laborer to fulfill family economy in the middle of rice harvest technology development in Sukamandi Hilir Village Pagar Merbau District. Data analysis was performed by Multiple Linear Regression with Independent Variable Dummy. The results of the research can be described 1) The use of harvest technology has a significant effect on the income of paddy farming and can raise the income of paddy farmers; 2) The use of harvest technology has a significant effect on the income of rice harvest workers while Age, Education, and Experience have no significant effect on the income of rice harvest workers. However, age has a positive value in increasing income at 95% confidence level; 3) Rice harvesters in the midst of harvest technology should seek alternative employment, ranging from work as Farm Laborers, and truck drivers; 4) The use of Harvester Combine Technology is much better as well as beneficial to farmers' income than the use of Technology Crops Crescent.
