Abstract

Mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana L.) is one of tropical fruit commodities which becomes Indonesia’s prima donna of export. Karacak Village, Sub-district of Leuwiliang is a mangosteen development center. There are some problems in this commodity, such as low production, uncertain quality, and decreasing price during harvest time. There are two objectives of this research, ie to analyze the comparative and competitive advantages of mangosteen production using Policy Analysis Matrix. The result of Policy Analysis Matrix shows that mangosteen production in Karacak Village has comparative and competitive advantages. Overall, the government's input-output policy has not been effective. Sensitivity analysis shows that condition which increase the comparative and competitive advantages is the inrease in production of output 165 persen, condition which decrease the comparative and competitive advantages is the aplication of Regional Minimum Wages.
